Robinson attended the University of Memphis, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She then went on to earn a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Tennessee. Robinson began her political career in 2011, when she was elected to the Shelby County Commission. She served on the commission until 2018, when she was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives. Robinson is a member of the Democratic Party and is a strong advocate for education reform, economic development, and criminal justice reform.
