Anthony Granato is an American professional ice hockey coach and former player. He was born on March 18, 1981 in Downers Grove, Illinois. He is currently the head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey team. Granato played college hockey at the University of Wisconsin, where he was a two-time All-American and the team captain in his senior year. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He played in the NHL for the Kings, Colorado Avalanche, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Granato retired from playing in 2008 and began his coaching career with the Avalanche. He was an assistant coach for the Avalanche from 2009 to 2013, and then served as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2014 to 2016. He was hired as the head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers in 2016. Granato is married to his wife, Sarah, and they have two children. His net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
